Talks One Way - Votes The Other
City Councilman Ken Svoboda has trouble keeping his positions on important issues straight. Here’s a look at some of the issues that are important to Lincoln residents that Ken just can’t seem to find a steady position.

Ken Svoboda on Impact Fees
Ken Svoboda in an April 27th , 2001 LJS article: “Svoboda said he supports impact fees on new development as a way to level the playing field between developers but a way to extract new dollars from growth.”
Svoboda said repeatedly during the 2007 Mayoral campaign that he would repeal impact fees.
Ken Svoboda on Property Taxes
In a Lincoln Journal Star article, “I think we should rely more on property taxes.” Ken also supported the $70 million bond issue to build streets and trails in 2004.
During the Mayoral campaign, Svoboda said he would not raise property taxes.
